Sterilisation process
The sterilisation process of the dental instruments (regular or surgical) proceeds as following:
Disinfection of dental cabients:
After each patient the dental instruments and materials used are picked up and brought to the sterilisation room.
Inside the cabinets everything is cleaned (the dental chair, lamps, spittoon, trays, rotatory instruments, etc.) with superficial disinfectant (¨instrunet¨). The air suction tubes are cleaned with water mixed with disinfectant liquid. Once the cabinet is disinfected new material and instruments are put into place.
There are three types of controls we implement in order to ensure a proper sterilisation process:
Chemical: through external indication; an adhesive tape is inserted into the autoclave and certain color changes
indicate the correct or faultiness of the process.
Physical: the autoclave´s display show graphics where temperature, pressure and time are indicated.
Bilogical: ampoules are introduced into an incubator and then inserted into the autoclave.
