Before surgery
It is not necessary to fast. You can eat and drink normally before a surgery.
We recommend that you have you a meal two to three hours before surgery. This is because you are not supposed to eat for at least another two hours after the completion of the surgical intervention which might be a complicated extraction, an apicoectomy or an implant.
If you are diabetic do not attend an appointment for surgery without having eaten something before. Proceed as if it was just another day and watch your level of insulin.
